“In the next two days, more people will arrive. There is also a possibility that one individual from Singapore will arrive today,” Gupta said, hinting at the expanding international dimension of the case.

Amid widespread speculation regarding the post-mortem findings, Gupta clarified that the report will not be made public as previously rumoured.

“The report will not be released at 4 PM tomorrow. It will be submitted directly before the court. The SIT has already received it,” he confirmed.

Gupta further revealed that the agency has sought official permission to travel to Singapore, where parts of the investigation are also underway. “An investigation is being carried out in Singapore, and all necessary information has been shared with the authorities there. Once permission is granted, the SIT will visit Singapore for further inquiries,” he said.

The SIT Chief reiterated that the investigation is being guided by an expert committee and that all legal norms are being meticulously followed.

“Those currently in 14-day custody cannot be re-interrogated at this stage. Every procedural requirement is being strictly adhered to,” Gupta noted.

Zubeen Garg, one of Assam’s most celebrated musicians and a household name across the Northeast, passed away under circumstances that have since drawn widespread public attention and emotional outpouring. His death sparked speculation and calls for a thorough, transparent inquiry.

Gupta assured the public that the CID remains committed to transparency, diligence, and adherence to the rule of law.

“Every step is being taken within the legal framework. The public will continue to receive updates as the investigation progresses,” he emphasised.

As the probe widens beyond India’s borders, all eyes remain on the SIT’s findings—expected to shed light on the mystery surrounding the untimely demise of a cultural legend who defined generations of Assamese music.
